NewsThree forest fires in Far North SHARE ON: Rocco Frangione, contributor, Monday, Jun. 25th, 2018 Photo credit: SuppliedThe Cochrane District is the site of three forest fires.The largest at 3,400 hectares is being fought while officials are keeping watch on a second fire which is about 1,600 hectares in size.Both fires are in the Attawapiskat area.The third fire is only 122 hectares large and is under control near Peawanuck.In total there are four fires burning across the Northeast, with the last in the Sudbury District.The fire hazard ranges from high to moderate across the northeast.
