Come grab a booklet and learn more about the history of Canada and its people.
That’s the message according to Mayor Johanne Baril from the Municipality of Val Rita-Harty regarding National Indigenous People’s Day.
Baril says community members are asked to come grab a free activity book from the municipal office filled with some activities all regarding Aboriginal culture.
She says the reason for the booklets is it’s a simple and easy way to get kids involved in learning more, which in turn, hooks the parent.
Baril says too long people have been separated by their backgrounds, now is the time to start being more inclusive and respectful.
The municipality of Val Rita-Harty is offering the free booklets to all members of the community, and they can be picked up from the municipal office.
