The plan to improve the community of Val Rita-Harty will focus on revitalizing its infrastructure.
The municipality announced its Community Improvement Plan this past week, and Mayor Johanne Baril says they are looking to revitalize the area by giving a refresh to their plan.
Baril says the presentation focused on how to improve infrastructure as well as make the community more appealing to live, work and enjoy.
She says the CIP listed out a process for improvement which included a Background Study, Draft CIP, Public Meeting, Adoption of the Plan and then finally Implementation.
Baril says the proposal seeks to upgrade the water treatment plant, replace playground furniture and encourage new housing through lot sales.
She also says the proposal seeks to provide grants or loans for accessible home improvements for the handicap, as well as the acquisition and upgrade of the elementary school as both a community facility and business centre.
Baril says the plan is also proposing to bring tax relief to new homeowners over the next five years.
