Circle Street Access Closed For Vehicles Thursday

Circle Street in Kapuskasing will be closed off to traffic most of tomorrow.

The Town of Kapuskasing has issued a statement regarding Circle Street’s closure tomorrow from 8:30am to 9:00pm to accommodate the National Indigenous People’s Day Celebration.

General Manager of Protective Services and Fire Chief Pat Kennedy says there is the potential for large crowds within the Circle during the event and crowd control will be considered if Emergency Services are needed to access the area.

Kennedy says if needed, EMS will be taking alternate routes to detour around the Circle considering Cain Avenue, Queen Street and McPherson Avenue access will be closed off.

He says if an incident was to take place in the Circle, a Hard Closure would take place, meaning EMS will be allowed to pass through for such an emergency.

Kennedy also mentions that volunteers will be posted at each intersection leading to the Circle to assist with traffic and parking.

The town reminds residents to use caution and thanks them for their cooperation.
