The local area will be seeing some significant rainfall today.
Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls are under a special weather statement according to Environment Canada regarding rainfall expected in the amount of 30 to 50 millimetres.
The weather agency says a fast moving low-pressure system is going to hit Northeastern Ontario throughout the day before moving eastward towards Quebec.
Environment Canada says the rain is expected to end by this evening.
The weather agency is closely monitoring the situation.
