As for the provincial outlook, the PCs will form a majority government.

In his victory speech Premier elect Doug Ford referenced his late brother Rob Ford, saying he is looking down proudly tonight.

The NDP will become the official opposition and the Liberal Party failed to maintain official party status, having won only seven of the eight required seats.

Ford said in his victory speech tonight “a new day has dawned in Ontario”.
