Following his win, Bourgouin chatted with Moose News regarding his feelings on the victory.

He spoke about his emotions riding high off being elected, but also his intention to serve his area.

Bourgouin says his first focus will be to improve local employment through improving the partnerships with local companies.

As for the provincial outlook, the PCs will form a majority government.

In his victory speech Premier elect Doug Ford referenced his late brother Rob Ford, saying he is looking down proudly tonight.

The NDP will become the official opposition and the Liberal Party failed to maintain official party status, having won only seven of the eight required seats.

Ford said in his victory speech tonight “a new day has dawned in Ontario”.
