Polls Now Closed For Provincial Election

The polls have now been officially closed for the provincial election.

As of 9:00pm across the province, all polling stations have been closed down across the province and votes have begun being calculated.

Kapuskasing, Hearst, Moonbeam, Opasatika, Fauquier-Strickland, Mattice, Val-Rita and Smooth Rock Falls have all closed their voting stations in a riding that had a possible 16,529 eligible voters according to CBC.

There were several candidates within the Mushkegowuk-James Bay riding vying to be the first leader of the area.

These include the PC’s Andre Robichaud, NDP’s Guy Bourgouin, Liberal Gaetan Baillargeon, NOP Jacques Joseph Ouellette, Green Party’s Sarah Hutchinson and Libertarian Vanda Marshall.

Totals will be released as official updates come in.
