Hearst Resident And Town Of Moonbeam Recognized By Caisse Populaire

The town of Moonbeam and one member of Hearst have been recognized by Caisse Populaire Alliance.

Each year three members receive praise for their contributions to the region, as well as hard work and commitment to the cause of promoting cooperative vales.

This year’s recipients of the L’Alliance’s Cooperative Order of Merit were Michel Paulin of North Bay, Manon Cyr of Hearst and the Moonbeam Regional Cooperative.

Cyr, a resident of Hearst, received the award for pioneering multiple projects and initiatives as well as being an active member in community organizations.

The Moonbeam Regional Cooperative was recognized for the town’s ability to show solidarity and cooperation by joining together and saving the local grocer back in 2013.

The awards were presented at the 39th Annual general meeting of L’Alliance des Caisses Populaires de L’Ontario.
