Pair Of Forest Fires Just East Of Hearst Brought Under Control

A pair of forest fires have slowly been brought under control just east of Hearst.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry residents of Hearst and surrounding communities such as Hallebourg, were warned about the ongoing forest fires in the Northeast Region.

The MNRF say the fires started late in the afternoon Thursday, as one fire located just north of Highway 11 and slightly west of Hallebourg was brought under control late in the day.

A second fire, located south of Highway 11 near Concession Road, and just southwest of Hallebourg was finally brought under control early this morning.
