Smooth Rock Falls Not Giving Up On Housing Project

Despite postponing their Senior Housing Project, Smooth Rock Falls is not giving up on the idea.

Earlier this week the town heard from Roman Bodnarchuk, the man behind the housing project called Woodland Village.

Bodnarchuk who is Chairman and CEO of Toronto based N5R.com, a real estate and marketing firm, also is Manager at Woodland Village Homes.

He says this project is a unique way to look at balanced living for people in their later years.

Bodnarchuk says the Woodland Village would fulfill the needs of residents at all stages of life, allowing for independent living through improved care.

However, Smooth Rock Falls, as announced yesterday, estimates an 850 square foot unit averaging a cost of $1,500 per month plus heat, hydro, water and sewer.

For now, the project awaits a response from the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board on their applications for Federal and Provincial grants to support the development.

Further details on the presentation can be found here.
