Jacques Ouellette has been named the Northern Ontario Party candidate for Mushkegowuk-James Bay.

A resident of Hearst for the past 25 years, the party announced Ouellette as their first ever candidate for the new provincial riding.

Party Leader Trevor Holliday says Ouellette strongly stands for equality in Northern Ontario.

He also says he is best known for his most recent campaign to put Hydro One back in the public’s hands.

Ouellette joins Andre Robichaud of the Ontario PC’s, Gaetan Baillargeon of the Ontario Liberals and the Ontario New Democrats Guy Bourgouin.

The provincial election stands at just under a month away on June 7th.
