The Heart and Stroke Big Bike turned out a massive success in the local area for 2018.
Heart and Stroke Foundation Coordinator for Timmins and Area Sylvie Lamothe says that in total they were able to raise over $5,800 for the charity through the event.
Lamothe says on their own, Kapuskasing was able to raise over $2,650 and Smooth Rock Falls just over $3,150.
She says the turnout was terrific, and the event which runs every two years up north, once again saw over $5,000 raised between the two municipalities, a terrific total.
Lamothe says the weather was cooperative and that was a big factor in the terrific turnouts and funds raised.
