Kaylee Wedge will try to lift Kapuskasing into a National Spotlight next Sunday.
The Healthy Kids Kapuskasing Project Manager is also now a competitor at the Senior Canadian Weightlifting Championships for 2018.
Wedge says she was surprised to hear about advancing to the Nationals, yet since receiving the message she has definitely received a boost to her spirit.
She says an injury last year had her sights set low this year, and is the reason why the invite came as a surprise.
Wedge says despite the surprise invite, she has some goals set that she hopes to achieve.
She will represent Team Ontario in the Under 63 Kilogram Division at the Senior Canadian Championships in Mississauga at the University of Toronto May 19th and 20th.
