A suspicious package found in Kapuskasing has been deemed no threat to the public safety.
The James Bay Detachments of the OPP were alerted around 2:00pm of a suspicious package on Kolb Avenue.
Provincial Constable and Media Officer Stephanie Belec says the OPP Explosive Disposal Unit was able to attend the North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services building and determine the package was not a danger to the public.
Belec says the public has now been allowed to return to the area.
She also says the investigation is currently ongoing and anyone with information regarding the person or people responsible should contact their local police.
