Sensenbrenner Hospital has received just over $755,000 towards a new Family Health Team.
Announced as an investment by the North East Local Health Integration Network, this will see a new group of health care professionals coming to Kapuskasing to address a broad range of healthcare needs.
Sensenbrenner Hospital CEO France Dallaire says right now only 50 per cent of their patients have access to primary care, which is through the emergency department.
Dallaire says the new funding will allow them to hire an interdisciplinary team.

She says there is a lot of work to go before the team is setup.
Dallaire also says its wonderful news for the community to see an investment in primary care to help workers take better care of their patients.
