Kapuskasing will be increasing its input into its accessible bus service by $2,841 in 2019.

At council an increase in the municipal contribution to the Disability Resource Centre was agreed, raising the total from $4,416 to just over $7,257 a year.

Mayor Alan Spacek says the increase will allow the Kapuskasing Accessible Bus Service to continue services such as monitoring rider usage and screening of applications.

Spacek says the service and organization that run it are invaluable.

He says the cost increase is more than reasonable.

The KABS company states that they provided over 15,000 trips to 610 registered riders in 2017 alone.
