UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning Continues Into Tuesday

UPDATE: The winter storm warning has continued into Tuesday for Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls.

Environment Canada says the storm should slow down by the afternoon and pass on towards Quebec.

The weather agency says to expect 20 to 30 centimetres of snow to have been built up by the time the storm ends.

 

 

The winter storm warning will continue through Monday for Kapuskasing, Hearst and Smooth Rock Falls.

Environment Canada says a major winter storm is expected to approach from the Great Lakes over Northern Ontario today.

The weather agency says heavy snowfall will continue today in the amount of 20 to 30 centimetres before slowing down this evening.

Environment Canada says to expect winds up to 50 kilometres per hour to create blowing snow within the area.

The agency also says travelers should expect hazardous conditions today into the evening and only slow improvement overnight.

Environment Canada expects the storm to taper off by Tuesday morning.
