There is a need for local organizations to help with the planning of Aboriginal Day.
That’s according to the Kapuskasing Indian Friendship Centre Akwe Program Coordinator Jennifer Jones, who says they would like to create a committee this year of multiple organizations.
Jones says they feel that having multiple local companies involved in the planning and execution of the day will only improve their celebration.
She says anyone interested in partnering with them for the event should attend their first committee meeting tomorrow at 10:30am at the centre.
Jones says if you are unable to attend the first meeting you can be sure to contact the centre to alert them of your interest.
She says they are excited to take a new approach to providing the community with an amazing celebration.
