With Easter falling on the long weekend, the OPP will be watching closely that you are buckled up.

Members of the James Bay Detachments of the OPP will be partaking in the Easter Long Weekend Seatbelt Campaign from Friday, March 30th through Monday, April 2nd in and around Kapuskasing.

Media Officer Stephanie Belec says police will be patrolling highways with a focus on buckling up.

Belec also says drivers are responsible for ensuring all passengers under the age of 16 are properly wearing their seatbelts.

She says if you are charged with a seatbelt violation you could receive a fine between $200 and $1,000 along with demerit points.

The OPP want to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter Long Weekend.
