Kap Curlers Fall Short Of Top Spot In Province

A Kapuskasing curling team has their sights set on a provincial title this weekend.

Head Coach Robin Francoeur says his team of curlers are starting off strong in their Under 18 Provincial competition in  New Liskeard.

Through Friday afternoon, Francoeur says the boys have been hanging tough against the competition, sitting thus far in a tie for second.

He says this team has a real shot at moving on to the nationals.

The team consists of Skip Jonathan Hince, Vice Joshua Hince, Justin Francoeur, Jonathan Power and Justin Asner.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, the team’s success came to a halt as of Saturday afternoon when they lost a third-in-a-row to fall to three wins and four losses.

This eliminated them from the competition as of Saturday afternoon.

The Provincial Championships from New Liskeard began on Wednesday, March 7th and ran through Sunday, March 11th.
