As clocks change over early Sunday morning, you should also take the time to do some fire safety checks.
That’s according to Kapuskasing Fire Chief Pat Kennedy, who says the changeover to daylight savings time is a perfect opportunity to double check you and your house are prepared for any emergency.
Kennedy says it is the perfect time to change your smoke detector’s batteries.
He says to double check expiry dates and practice an escape plan.
Daylight savings time begins on Sunday, March 11th at 2:00am when the clocks will move forward an hour to 3:00am.
