The first ever pond hockey tournament in Val Rita-Harty was a success.
The Val Rita-Harty Pond Hockey Tournament took place Saturday afternoon on the outdoor rink or ODR in town.
The tournament, sponsored by the Kapuskasing and District Chamber of Commerce alongside North Clay Belt and Ford Lecours Motors saw 10 teams compete to become the first ever champions.
Through the event, organizers were able to attract visitors to the area to come and celebrate the day as well as enjoy the competition.
In the end, the Ford Lecours Motors sponsored club took home the first-ever trophy as champions of the pond hockey tournament.
