Cochrane has been named the host site for the 2019 Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canadian Junior ‘A’ Championship.

The event is hosted on a rotating basis between the NOJHL, Ontario Junior ‘A’ Hockey League, OJHL and SIJHL.

Cochrane Mayor Peter Politis says hosting this event is something the town is extremely proud to do and fully supportive of.

Politis also says they can showcase their progressive community and region while also enjoying Canadian Junior ‘A’ hockey at its top level.

Cochrane beat out Timmins in the bidding process and will now become the first NOJHL team since Kirkland Lake back in 2016 to host the event.

The Cochrane Crunch will host the four-team event from April 30th through May 4th at the Tim Horton Event Centre.

Ticket information for the event will be announced in the coming months.
