Kapuskasing did not put on a town-sponsored Winter Carnival in 2018, but La Forge made sure to try and keep the spirit alive.
During the final weekend of February, La Forge held their traditional carnival activities featuring food and some activities for the young and old.
The Saturday brunch, on the same weekend as past Kapuskasing Winter Carnivals took place, was also preceded by an event hosted by the Selke Centre and followed by the Legion’s steak supper in the evening.
Chair of La Forge Jos Godin says the event was a success and that the main winner of the 50/50 draw at the end of the evening took away $500 cash.
She says they look forward to doing it again next year.
