NOP Displeased With Wynne Liberals Focus Regarding Transportation Improvements

The Northern Ontario Party feels Kathleen Wynne’s handling of the Southern Ontario high-speed rail initiative shows her favouring the south over the north.

NOP Leader Trevor Holliday says the Wynne Liberals have forgotten their promise to create equality and fairness across the province.

Holliday believes this is best exemplified by the slight expansion promised to bus service in the north versus a recently announced plan that will see high-speed rail from Toronto to London completed by 2025.

He says the announcement from Minister of Transportation Kathryn McGarry back on February 13th regarding high-speed rail shows their farther ahead in planning with that project than they are expanding bus service in the north through the Community Transportation Grant.

The Liberals have not commented on expanded bus service in the north since announcing their $5.2 million investment to the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission back in December.
