The OPP are still investigating after a lockdown took place at the Kapuskasing Public Education Centre this afternoon.

Media Officer Stephanie Belec says around 1:00pm Kapuskasing officers of the OPP responded to a potential threat at the multi-school complex where Kapuskasing District High School, Diamond Jubilee Public School and Ecole Secondaire Publique Echo Du Nord are located.

The three schools were put into lockdown for roughly one hour following a complaint to police from school officials.

Officers were able to locate and arrest a 15-year-old Kapuskasing male at his home in connection to the complaint, following which the lockdown was lifted for all three schools.

Belec says that they have officially identified the male as the same student who was suspended for an earlier incident in late January.

Currently, the OPP investigation into the matter is still ongoing, and we will update the story as details come forward.
