After already being given a financial boost in his battle with acute-leukemia over the summer, Alexandre Belanger has received another from the local community.

Val Rita-Harty Leisure and Recreation Committee Member Angele Beauvais says the February 3rd fundraiser held at the Community Centre was a complete success.

This was the second time the local area has come together to support Alexandre in his battle, as earlier in the summer a hair-o-thon was put together on behalf of his fight with acute-leukemia.

Beauvais says through the efforts of the volunteers, the musicians and the generosity of the community they were able to raise $4,000 to give to the Belanger family for Alex’s battle.

She says the community, along with radio stations MooseFM and CKGN and volunteers such as Adam Simard and Jennifer Landrieault deserve a lot of credit for their help with the fundraiser.
