It’s about to get a little warmer at Northern College thanks to some provincial funding.

The college is receiving over 900 thousand dollars from the provincial government to contribute to Ontario’s strategy to reduce carbon emissions through the Ontario Climate Change Action Plan.

President Fred Gibbons the funding will be used to for high-efficiency heating upgrades to all four campuses.

Gibbons says the college will be using the funding to upgrade all the campuses to high-efficiency heating systems.

He says work on replacing the heating systems will start this summer so they will be ready for the next heating season.
