Angus Wants Further Improvements To FedNor

Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus says Northern Ontario deserves its own independent agency to improve economic development within the region.

Angus was speaking about FedNor when he made such comments, the federal partner of Northern Ontario, whom he says has been short-changed and deserves to be made a standalone agency.

The comments from Angus stem from the fact Bill C-204, to establish an economic development agency for Northern Ontario, was not resurrected at the House of Commons in early February.

He says the work FedNor has been doing is terrific, but the resources they have at their disposal are limiting them from being able to explore all economic opportunities within the region.

Next, Angus says he is still fighting to bring the bill back, or to proposing a new, but similar one in the future.
