Mattice Receives Funding Boost For Community Spaces From FedNor

Families within Mattice will be benefitting from improved community spaces thanks to an over $14,000 investment from the government of Canada.

On Wednesday afternoon in Mattice-Val Cote the Minister of Innovations, Science and Economic Development, the Honourable Navdeep Bains announced the funding coming from FedNor.

Bains says the funding is allocated under Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, a $300 million fund which $10.4 million has now been spent across Northern Ontario.

He says funding will go towards improvements to the Mattice community hall and seniors centre, and more specifically a covered accessibility ramp to the centre.

Mayor Michel Briere says the funding will address accessibility issues so all residents can properly enjoy the center’s services.
