Kapuskasing is one of the many municipalities searching for more direction and details regarding the provincial government’s marijuana tax revenue plan.
At council Monday the request from the Town of Lakeshore to push the province to allocate a larger share of tax revenue directly to municipalities was tabled by the town.
Mayor Alan Spacek says the decision was based on a need for a more detailed position.
Spacek says right now through the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, the town is in discussion about their primary concerns regarding the process.
The Liberal provincial government announced back in mid-December that provinces would receive 75 per cent of marijuana tax revenue to divide between municipalities.
