A new Miss Chimo has been crowned for 2018 in Cochrane.
Riley Olkkonen has been crowned the winner of the annual pageant which took place this past Friday at Ecole Secondaire Cochrane High School.
A new sight to the event’s festivities was the first ever Cochrane’s Got Talent event which took place simultaneously on the evening.
Organizer Jenna Sigouin spoke to the crowd prior to the start of the event to better explain the new format and reasons for the lack of competitors within the pageant.
Sigouin says there were many different tests for the ladies, such as creativity through costumes, as well as questions about their interests and viewpoints.
She says the pageant has been around for over 50 years, and that she hopes that they will be able to continue to have it well into the future.
