For the first time in almost a decade, Hearst is throwing their hat in the ring to become the next winners of Kraft Hockeyville 2018.

Hearst has decided to nominate Claude Larose Arena as part of the national competition.

Economic Development Officer Julie Roy says participation in the contest is the key deciding factor to which municipality will be named the winner.

Roy says they felt this was the year to throw their hat back in the ring after nearly a decade of not being involved.

She says they wanted to prove that they are truly Hockeyville, while also creating a project for the community to work on together.
