January is Crime Stoppers Month in Ontario and the local chapter is celebrating with updated statistics.
The District of Cochrane Crime Stoppers says 313 tips were received in 2017, leading to over 100 charges laid, over$30,000 of stolen goods being recovered and over $50,000 in seized drugs.
Coordinator Marc Depatie says these numbers are good, but the program needs you to continue submitting tips.
Depatie says these are tips from across the region, not just Timmins.
He says the Cochrane District is a large geographic region, and this chapter collects tips from Hearst to the Quebec border.
