NOCA Hosts First Ever Northeastern Ontario Youth Curling Tournament

Over 125 kids from across Northeastern Ontario participated in a young curlers tournament over the weekend in Timmins.

The participants competed in either the Little Rock or Youth Challenge tournament from Friday through Sunday at the McIntryre Curling Club.

Hosted by the Northern Ontario Curling Association, curlers from Kapuskasing, Cochrane, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls joined those from New Liskeard in Timmins for the competition.

A total of 32 teams of four or five players from all different age groups were split between the two tournaments giving youth an opportunity to hone their craft at the sport.

This was the first ever year these youth curlers tournaments have been held.
