OHIP Plus Starts in the New Year

OHIP Plus is coming into affect.

On January 1st, the Wynne government will introduce the first universal drug program of its kind in Canada that is expected to help over four million young Ontarians.

Health Officials say if you are under 25-years-old with a valid Ontario Health Card, over 4,400 commonly prescribed drugs will be fully covered, including dispensing fees and deductibles. Health Officials say this includes things like antibiotics, birth control, puffers for asthma and insulin and test strips for Type One diabetes patients.

The province has created a website where you can check if your drugs are covered.
