OPP Make Arrest For Arson Along ONR Line

A structural fire in the community of Moose River Crossing, an hour outside of Cochrane, has resulted in charges.

The Ontario Northland Railway company called in a structural fire around 4:00pm Sunday in the remote community which sits along the ONR line.

The OPP were able to access the community thanks to assistance from the ONR, and after their investigation charged a 64-year-old Moosonee man with arson and breaking and entering.

The accused is set to appear in court in Timmins on January 10th, 2018.

Meanwhile, the Ontario Northland Railway company says their train service through the Moosonee area and nearby towns will remain as scheduled.
