Resident Has Sights On Bringing First Community And Arts Centre To Iroquois Falls

A relatively new resident of Iroquois Falls is looking to bring the town its first community and arts centre.

Toyin Coker has a vision to fulfill what she considers a void within her community, creating a place where people can go enjoy themselves and immerse in the arts.

Coker says as of now there is nowhere for this to take place, and therefore she has been eyeing some city-owned buildings to rent, including one located on Cambridge Avenue.

She says the town deserves more outlets for their people, considering its lack of resources available for offer.

The town of Iroquois Falls will have a meeting at the Station Hall on January 5th to allow residents and council members to talk about the idea further.

In order to support Coker in her project, she has opened a fundraising page online which you can find on generosity.com.
