A medical marijuana facility is coming to Kapuskasing.

Mayor Alan Spacek along with CEO Guylain Baril and town council as a whole has announced a formal partnership between the Kapuskasing Economic Development Corporation and CannAssist Canada to construct an eco-friendly medical marijuana facility.

The project is expected to provide approximately $3 million in annual income for over 60 families and an estimated $12.5 million in economic benefits to local business in the area.

Spacek says this is a very exciting day for the town.

He says he expects good jobs and economic benefits for the community stemming from this facility.

Spacek says there will be further information on the facility provided at an official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on December 28th in the Council Chambers.
