Former Iroquois Falls Resident To Represent Canada At Curling Competition

A former Iroquois Falls and Timmins resident is going to represent Canada in Scotland come the new year.

Rob MacLeod, now residing in Sault Ste. Marie will be one of 40 Canadians who will represent the country at the 2018 Strathcona Cup, a competition that is held every five years.

MacLeod says his experience with curling began back in Iroquois Falls in 2005 when he joined the Junior Curling Club as their President for the next five years, three of which he also spent as Vice-President of the Curling Club.

He says the entire experience is going to be very surreal for him.

MacLeod says coming from watching Brad Jacobs from his home in Iroquois Falls to working alongside him now has been quite a journey.

The Strathcona Cup will see MacLeod compete overseas in Scotland from January 10th through February 3rd of 2018.
