College students will be back to class on Tuesday.

The province has passed back-to-work legislation, ending the five week strike.

Northern College says there are plans to extend this semester to make sure no student loses a year of education because of the lost class time.

The school says the fall semester will run until December 22nd, break for Christmas, then students will be back on January 2nd to continue the semester.

Around 500,000 students across Ontario have been out of class since the strike by 12 thousand professors, instructors, councillors and Librarians began on October 15th.
