College Boreal Students Still Without An Answer As To When They Can Return To Class

Students from College Boreal as well as 23 other colleges across the province are still without an answer as to when they can return to class.

The Ontario government’s second attempt to get college students back into the classroom did not receive unanimous support Friday afternoon.

Both OPSEU and the CEC met with Kathleen Wynne to chat and get back to the bargaining table.

OPSEU had recommended to faculty that they reject the college’s proposal.

Meanwhile, the College Employer Council supports the back-to-work legislation.

Premier Kathleen Wynne will for the third time table back-to-work legislation during a special sitting Saturday afternoon.

College Boreal President Daniel Giroux could not be reached for comment on the matter.

As of now, Wynne says students should be back to school within the next week, but when will now depend on how long it takes to get the legislation passed.

College faculty has been on strike across the province since October 16th.
