NewsMoonbeam Says No To Medical Marijuana Facility, For Now SHARE ON: Nick Birnie, contributor, Thursday, Nov. 9th, 2017The town of Moonbeam has said no, at least for now, to medical marijuana.At a council meeting Monday, the idea of a medical marijuana dispensary was discussed by council members.Mayor Gilles Audet says council decided after hearing a presentation from a local long-time advocate of medicinal marijuana to deny the request for a dispensary in Moonbeam.Robert Neron, a Moonbeam native, made his presentation to council to bring a dispensary to town.Audet says that considering the government’s recent announcements, council felt it best to wait and see first how they will handle the scenario, before making any decisions on a municipal level.He says the proposal of a dispensary was given plenty of opposition by residents in attendance, and so the right choice at this time was to say no.
