As the college strike continues onward, both sides are no closer to a deal.
Colleges are claiming the union seeks academic control, and the union claims they want academic freedom over the courses they teach.
The College Employers Council called for a forced vote Monday after the latest offer from OPSEU.
OPSEU Local 673 President David Fasciano says progress was being made on talks that started last Thursday before the College Employers Council put an end to that.
Fasciano, who represents faculty at College Boreal, says he is extremely frustrated by the sudden stop in progress, all of which came from the college’s decision to walk away from the table Monday.
He says if the employers council was willing to come back to the table, students could be in class by the end of the week.
Currently, the college strike has entered its fourth week.
