NOP Claims Northern MPP’s Don’t Understand Average Northern Family’s Medical Struggles

The NOP claims fellow northern MPP’s don’t understand what the average Northern family experiences to get proper medical care.

On Tuesday, NOP Leader Trevor Holliday released a statement saying that over the past few weeks different MPP’s have offered their solutions for families in the North, all with not much to show for.

France Gelinas, NDP MPP for the Nickel Belt riding wants to see an increase in the Northern Ontario Travel grant in order to keep clinics in the north open.

Holliday says Gelinas’ idea is a conservative type of ideology, promoting a Children’s hospital in Sudbury when it is not feasible.

He says the only real solution is to advocate for more specialist’s clinics in the north as well as creating a Northern Ontario house with free accommodations for the families of children receiving treatments.

Holliday says the NOP is dedicated to coming up with solutions that will make sense for all Northerners.
