Health Minister Counters NDP Claims Over Hospital Under-Funding

The MPP for Timiskaming-Cochrane says a lack of hospital funding across Northeastern Ontario is putting patients at risk.  John Vanthof says a child contemplating suicide waited two weeks in the Matheson hospital before a mental health bed was available in Timmins.   Vanthof blames the Liberals for this saying the party has been in power for 14 years but continues to underfund hospitals and as a result puts people at risk.   However health Minister Doctor Eric Hoskins says from April to September these was no bed shortage in Timmins.  Hoskins adds Timmins has received eight more beds and is in line for further allocations as the need increases.
