As the winter season slowly creeps closer, your local police department wants to remind you to start preparing for winter driving.

OPP Media Officer Stephanie Belec says the police are aiming for fewer preventable collisions this winter.

Belec says in order to accomplish this, they are strongly advising the Kapuskasing community to use winter tires.

She says to do this; they want to remind drivers to be equipped with a winter survival kit at all times when driving.

The OPP would like everyone in the Kapuskasing community to arrive alive this winter.
