Timmins District Hospital To Receive Eight New Beds

The Timmins and District Hospital is getting eight new beds.

This is part of a provincial initiative to add 1,200 hospital beds across the Ontario.

Health Minister Eric Hoskins says this $100 million investment is the equivalent of opening six medium-sized hospitals.

Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson says this investment shows that the Liberals are finally bending to the pressure from families and the NDP.

The province says it will also be spending $40 million on its plan to create more home care services.
