KDCC President Expects Local Family Businesses Will See No Benefits From Tax Cuts

Provincial government cuts to small business tax will not have a large effect on business in the North.

That’s according to Kapuskasing and District Chamber of Commerce President Martin Proulx, who says seeing a cut to taxes for small business in Ontario of any form will have its advantages.

However, Proulx does realize that on a local scale, family-run businesses will not be reaping the benefits from these changes.

He says the cuts were simply not geared towards helping the mom and pop businesses.

Last Monday cuts to the small business tax rate were announced as going from 10.5 per cent to 10 per cent by 2018 and to nine per cent by January of 2019.
